How do I know if solar will work on my business/home?

Photon Energy Solutions offers more than one way to go solar. A solar system can be installed on many types of rooftops, on the ground, or over a parking lot. Our team designs customized system that perfectly meets your requirements. With so many options to choose from, you and our Photon Energy Solutions certified installer will decide what’s right for your business by analyzing your site to determine the best system solution that perfectly meets your requirements.

What is the process for buying a solar system?

Request a quote form or call PES at +92-42-35757099. You will be connected to our PES certified installer who will guide you through the solar installation process. The first step in the process will be a site assessment, our installer will visit your company/ home to analyze your home/ business’s utility bills and energy usage, and conduct an onsite audit of your site’s physical characteristics. Next, our installer will provide a detailed proposal laying out the system and financials that maximize your solar energy output and savings. The third step is the actual installation. All of the PES certified installers have extensive experience in commercial applications and can provide a turnkey system. Once your system is up and running, you can sign up for a maintenance contract in which we will remotely monitor your system’s performance.

How much does solar cost? Is a solar system cost-effective for my business?

The cost of a system depends on a wide variety of factors including the type of roof, system complexity, geographic location, system size and more. A solar system is an investment that guarantees the cost of electricity for years to come. After the system is purchased, the electricity it generates is essentially free. Photon Energy Solutions’ certified installer will analyze your specific electric usage, electricity rate schedule and site to determine what option is the best investment and will produce the highest returns.

How big of a solar electric system do I need?

The size of your system depends on several factors including the regular electricity use, space availability for a system and financial preferences. Solar systems can either offset 100% or only a portion of a building’s energy requirements. In most situations, your system will be connected to the utility grid, so even if your solar electric system doesn’t generate all of your building’s electricity, you can still draw from the utility.

How does using solar electricity help the environment? Does solar help offset climate change?

Coal-fired electrical power plants are responsible for almost all sulfur dioxide emissions in Pakistan. On the other hand, solar electricity produces absolutely no pollution. By using more solar electricity, fewer greenhouse gas-producing power plants need to be built. This is one major step to reducing climate change.

What is Net Metering?

Typically most commercial solar systems are connected to the utility grid through a meter. This meter tracks the amount of electricity your company’s solar electric system produces and the amount of electricity your building consumes. During sunny days (peak production period) your system may produce more power than your building uses, and your electric meter runs backward as you send electricity back to the utility grid. At night when your system isn’t producing electricity, you will draw energy from the grid. This process is called net metering. At the end of the month, the utility company will only bill your company if it used more electricity than your system produced. Net metering can allow companies to ensure a constant flow of electricity while also receiving credit for the energy its system produces. Unfortunately in Pakistan, WAPDA do not compensate for excess electricity produced. Therefore it is important to use a PES certified installer to help ensure your system is sized correctly.

Can I buy solar modules direct from Photon Energy Solution?

Please visit http://www.photon energy solutions.com/contact-us and we will direct you to your best options for purchasing a complete turnkey Solution. Or call at +92-42-35757099 and we will walk you through each step to “Turn on Solar”.

How long does it take to install a solar system?

Installation time varies greatly, mostly depending on complexity and size of the system. Small commercial and residential systems can typically be completed in a few days; however, large-scale commercial installation could require several weeks.

Will my building have power in the event of a blackout?

As a safety precaution for electrical workers, your commercial system will lose power during a blackout (unless you install a battery backup system).

How will I monitor the system to ensure peak performance?

Our PES team designs your system so marvelously that it outperforms normal market designs and installations within the same cost of equipment thus ensuring greater system yield. Our provided equipment, accessories and materials are technologically advanced. Furthermore, several monitoring systems are available that can track your system’s energy output and can produce daily, weekly, monthly and annual data. Your PES certified installer will work with you to determine which monitoring system best meets your requirements. Check with your installer to see if they offer a monitoring maintenance service. Service agreements can include cleaning and performance monitoring.

Is there maintenance required to keep a solar system operational?

Occasionally, a solar array should be rinsed off with a hose to clear the dust or debris that blocks sunlight and reduces efficiency. The inverter and batteries (for off grid /Off Grid Hybrid systems) need to be monitored periodically. That’s about all that’s required. There are no moving parts to wear out and PES provided solar modules are covered under limited power output warranty for 25 years.

What is ON GRID solar system?

On grid systems are the most common type of solar PV system. Grid-tied systems are connected to the electrical grid, and this allows residents of a building to use solar energy as well as electricity from the grid. Grid-tied systems do not need to produce 100% of the electricity demand for a home or business. When a home or business is using energy, but the solar panels aren’t producing enough energy (at night, or on a stormy day), electricity from the grid supplements or replaces electricity from the panels. Living with a grid-tied solar PV system is no different than living with utility electricity, except that some or all of the electricity you use comes from the sun.

What is OFF GRID solar system?

Off-grid systems are most common in remote locations without utility service. Off-grid solar-electric systems operate independently from the local utility grid to provide electricity to a home, building, boat, or RV (or remote agricultural pumps, gates, traffic signs, etc.). These systems typically require either a battery bank (to store solar electricity for use during nighttime or cloudy weather) a backup source of energy (like a generator), or both.  An off-grid solar system must be large enough to produce enough electricity to cover 100% of the energy needs of the building.  In all off-grid scenarios, electrical usage must be monitored and kept below the maximum output of the panels and batteries as there is no grid-source to supply excess power.

What is HYBRID solar system?

On grid hybrid system is fully programmable system being able to control and balance the available source of energy. A hybrid system enables to store the generated solar energy within a battery bank which gives the ability to then use it when you’re home during the evening (when the cost of electricity is at peak rate). In many countries the peak electricity rate is three to four times the solar feed-in rate so using a hybrid system can greatly reduce the electricity costs.

What is ON GRID HYBRID solar system?

Grid-tied systems can be upgraded to include a battery backup, a bank of deep-cycle batteries. In an on grid hybrid solar system, the backup battery is charged by both the grid and the solar panels. In the event of an outage, the backup battery will need to be switched on either manually or with an automatic system to provide backup power to the building. Some On Grid Hybrid system have additional features to combine Solar power with Utility Grid to compensate your power requirements, thus increasing battery life
